Who could ever forget the heroics of Captain Al Haynes and crew, with a disabled DC-10 airliner, able to coax it down without any hydraulic controls.  Many died in the disaster, but the majority lived through it and no pilot has ever been able to duplicate the feat in a simulator. The incident took place while I was on the air interviewing a pilot about another issue.  He was familiar with the Sioux City airport and gave us valuable insight.
